Tipful Tuesday: Writing Your Own Wedding Vows!

January 24th, 2012

I found this really great article on theknot.com website and I thought I would share!

Tips on writing your own vows!!

1. Get Clearance! Make sure you talk with your officiate will accept personalized vows.

2. Make a Plan! Talk with your fiancé and make sure you guys are on the same page! Fine out if you will write them together or separately and if you will show them to each other before the ceremony.

3.  Create an Outline! Establish a structure that you will both stick to.

4. Cut it Down! Pick a length you will both stick to as well.

Here are a few ideas to get you started!

What did you think when you first saw him/her? Start from the beginning — you didn’t want to go out and now you’re grateful your friends dragged you out? How to use: When we met at __________, I knew __________.

Where do you see yourselves in 10 years? 20 years? 40 years? Go deeper than Happily married in a big house. What are your long-term hopes, dreams, and goals? How to use: I look forward to __________, laughing and __________ as we __________.

MFEO – Made of Each Other!

January 22nd, 2012

Kristin and Brandon’s wedding is quickly approaching this spring, and I thought I would share their recent photo shoot with Joseph Mark Photography! All the photos turned out amazing, so hard to choose favorites, but here are a few highlights. I titled this blog post Made for Each Other, because I have never met a couple that is so perfect for one another. They are so sweet together, it has been a joy to help them plan their wedding day.

Thank you Joe and Stephanie for the beautiful photos! www.josephmark.com

Tipful Tuesday: Destination Wedding!

January 17th, 2012

Thinking about a destination wedding? Here are a few things to help make your destination wedding fabulous!

  • Hire a wedding coordinator! This is someone that you could really use especially for a destination wedding. They will help with selecting vendors, hotels, and even getting your guests to and from the airport!
  • Take trip to do some scouting for your venues, florist and such. This will help make things go a lot smoother than having to go by just a picture.
  • If you can’t make a trip make sure you ask for references from your vendors!
  • Tell your friends! Forewarn the friends that you plan on having stand by your side about the wedding so you know if you have to choose someone else.
  • Welcome your guest! Make sure your guests feel appreciated for taking this time to be at your wedding. Gift baskets with snacks, and things they could use on the trip will show them how much it means to you that they are there!

XOXO

Travel Thursday: Travel Trends for 2012

Travel Trends for 2012

Believe it or not, it’s  2012, and I wanted to share TripAdvisor’s 2012 travel trends forecast. Compiled from the responses from more than 2,700 U.S. travelers, this year’s annual survey revealed that despite the economic climate, travel spending is on the rise. In fact, nearly one-third of travelers said they anticipate they’ll spend more on leisure travel next year than they did in 2011!

2012 is definitely shaping up to be an exciting year for travel according to the survey findings, which include:

-90% of travelers are planning to take two or more leisure trips next year, with 24% planning five or more getaways.

-The top trip picks for travelers in 2012 are beach trips (44%), cultural trips (42%), road trips (40%), city trips (36%), and guys or girlfriends getaways (24%)

-68% plan to travel outside of the U.S. Of those travelers, 54% will visit Europe, 52% will go to a North American destination outside the U.S. like Canada or Mexico, and 12% will travel to Asia.

-The top three international cities U.S. travelers plan to visit are Paris, London and Rome.

-44% plan on using their mobile phone or smartphone more as a travel resource during trips in 2012.

Where do you fall within those numbers?
